FELLOWSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH CELEBRATES
FOUR YEARS IN JERRABOMBERRA

God has truly blessed our ministry in Jerrabomberra. On the 12th of September we celebrated our fourth year here. We were thrilled to have forty-nine people attend the event. The theme of the evening was “Many Hands, One Heart.” We celebrated how God has brought people from so many different cultures into our ministry with one heart for Him. Just in our small congregation we have people from Australia, America, England, Malaysia, New Zealand and South Africa. It was such a pleasure to enjoy the food prepared from all of the different countries. Our music team performed several songs and Dwayne gave a very strong salvation message. After the service two men that we have been praying for came up to him and told him that the message had started them thinking. That’s a huge step. Please pray for all those who heard the message.
The ministry of Fellowship Baptist Church reaches far beyond our weekly worship services and children’s programs. Currently, we have a men’s Bible study running each week. The women meet each month for Unwind and Design, a time of fellowship and making practical crafts. Valerie always brings a challenging devotion to the ladies. Several of the women who come do not go to our church. Valerie is very active in the local public school with a drama class she teaches. Using dowel rods, she choreographs and teaches the 6th grade students routines which are performed for their Easter and Christmas assemblies as well as the community’s autumn fair and Christmas festivities. She also helps teach Scripture classes in the school for Kindergarten through Grade 2 students. We are so privileged to have this opportunity. Currently there is an ethics class being trialled in other parts of the State as an alternative to Scripture. We are praying that this will not come to our school here and that we will have the freedom to continue our classes here. Dwayne is also very involved in the local residents’ association and has been working on a malicious damage prevention team to help stop crime in our community. We feel so blessed to be a part of our community and are so happy that we are making a positive difference here.
In the coming months we are planning several outreach events. We will be doing a door-knocking campaign in October right after the Spring Break holidays here. In November we will have a booth at the school’s fete which is expected to attract over one-thousand people. Please continue to pray for us as we seek to build relationships with the people here. Pray that we will have many opportunities to share Jesus Christ. Thank you!
