 14 women and children, including
3 first-timers attended the August Unwind
and Design night. Valerie gave a
devotion on “Let Your Light Shine.” Pray for our next evening, the 29th of October.
We hope this will be a great outreach.

Pressing On . . .

This week marks our third year of ministry here in Jerrabomberra. The time has flown by quickly. We will be having a special three- year anniversary celebration next month. Unfortunately, in the past year we lost several individuals and families due to moves. A pastor who grew up in Australia just wrote to us today and told us that it takes at least ten years to get a ministry started here. His advice was “to stay and pray.” That is what we intend to do: to keep praying and pressing on.
We have been praying about new ways to reach our community. We have done a good job with advertising and making our name know in the community. However, this is not bringing the results we would like. We feel led now to go out and knock on every door in our community. There are over 1250 homes here so this will be a big task. Please pray that other church members will also come and help us. We hope to be able to hand out some information about our ministry and leave each home with a Gospel tract that has a clear presentation of the Gospel. We hope to have this project which we are calling “Operation Jerra” complete before the end of the year. Pray with us that the people will be receptive to us and will be encouraged to visit our ministry.
We are also very excited about starting a youth ministry here. One of our young couples has expressed an interest in heading this up in their home each Friday night. We hope to have a good crowd for our kickoff evening the 9th of October. Each week teens will be invited to come for a time of Bible teaching. The last Friday night of each month, they will enjoy a special activity. We expect several teens to attend who do not go to our church. Pray for Stuart and Michelle as they lead this exciting new ministry. They are also helping Valerie out now sharing some of the Children’s Church responsibilities.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We have snail mailed several letters but still haven’t heard from a few of our faithful supporting churches. If you have not responded to us in a while, we would really like to hear from you. We want to be sure that you are getting our letters each month. If you do receive them via snail mail and would prefer e-mail, let us know.  Be sure an tell us the address you currently receive the snail mail copy.  Thank you so much for those of you who have allowed to use e-mail. It is helping us to save a lot of money that would otherwise be spent on paper, printing, envelopes and postage. We hope you like our new letter design. Let us know what you think.  We are considering redesign of our web site as well

SURGERY UPDATE: Valerie is recovering well from her recent foot surgery. Her foot is still swollen a little. She cannot wear regular shoes yet. The doctor said it might be November before she can get into some normal shoes. Thank you for your prayers!
